About the area
Alma is on Abbott Street in Pandosy, one of Kelowna's most walkable lakeside neighbourhoods, between downtown and the Lower Mission.
Lake and beaches
Boyce-Gyro Beach, on Lakeshore Road, is one of the city's most popular beaches, and Rotary Beach is just to the south. A newer waterfront park at Abbott Street and Cedar Avenue has a public pier, a floating dock and an accessible kayak launch. Abbott Street is known for its historic homes and small lakeshore beaches.
Shopping and dining
Pandosy Village's boutiques, cafes and restaurants are close by.
Health care
Kelowna General Hospital, with 24-hour emergency services, is on Pandosy Street, north of Alma.
Schools
Okanagan College's Kelowna campus is on KLO Road, a short drive away. School catchments are set by School District 23, so check the catchment for a specific home with the district.
Getting around
The Abbott Street walking and cycling corridor links Pandosy with downtown and the hospital. BC Transit's Routes 1 and 4 use the South Pandosy Exchange, with connections to downtown, Okanagan College and Orchard Park. Downtown is roughly a 10 minute drive.
